Summit sponsors cycle team for 2013

Summit Physio is proud to announce the sponsorship of Bott & Co Cycle team for the 2013 season. We will be keeping you updated on their progress so keep your eye out for them at races and on twitter.

NAME: Andrew Wright

AGE: 44

LIVES: Wigan, Lancashire

HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED IN CYCLING?: In the early 80s, a guy living nearby worked in Oliver Somers Bike shop in Wigan. He always had the best kit (Hill’s special frame, Campag groupset, San Marco Rolls saddle, Benotto bar tape, Binda toe straps etc, etc) and always looked immaculate. He told me about the Tour de France and the Kellogg’s city centre races on channel 4 TV. I watched and was hooked!…I’ve been addicted ever since.

NAME: Steve Burnett

AGE: 40

LIVES: Wigan, Lancashire

HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED IN CYCLING: As a kid, I watched the Tour de France coverage on Channel 4 TV. It inspired me to get out riding myself.

CYCLING HERO: Johan Museeuw

BIKE: Specialized S Works Venge, Shimano groupset, Bontrager wheels

FAVOURITE PLACE TO RIDE: Tenerife

FAVOURITE PLACE TO RACE: Brenig, Wales.

RESULTS: 22nd Overall and 1st British finisher in Mallorca 312 Challenge.

NAME: Roy Holmes

AGE: 53

LIVES: Wigan, Lancashire

HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED IN CYCLING? : In 1975, my neighbour was a cyclist. I used to see him going out on the bike at weekends and wanted to get involved. I did get involved pretty quickly and have been hooked ever since!

CYCLING HERO: Sean Kelly

BIKE: Scott addict, Shimano groupset, Mavic wheels

FAVOURITE PLACE TO RIDE: Mallorca in the springtime

FAVOURITE PLACE TO RACE: Isle of Man TT course and Bashall Eaves.

RESULTS: Over 50 career wins since age of 18. Current British Cycling and LVRC 50+ Road Race Champion

AMBITION FOR 2013 SEASON: To defend one if not both of my National titles

NAME: Stephen Stoneman

AGE: 43

LIVES: Wigan, Lancashire

HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED IN CYCLING? : In 1983, I read a book about cyclo touring and did a topic on it at school. My dad was a keen racing cyclist also and he inspired me to get started.

BIKE: specialized S Works Venge, Shimano groupset, Mavic wheels

FAVOURITE PLACE TO RIDE: Vendee region in France

FAVOURITE PLACE TO RACE: Bashall Eaves (Long course)

RESULTS: 136 career wins. European Masters Road Race Champion in 1999 & 2000. 5 Times North West regional champion ( Road and Criterium)
