Stephen graduated from Salford University with a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Rehabilitation. He is a member of the British Association of Sports Rehabilitators and Trainers, and has previously worked with Stockport County FC, Wrexham Crusaders RFLC, and enjoyed placements with renowned orthopaedic and spinal consultants.
Stephen joined Summit Physiotherapy in 2012, which allowed him to specialise in musculoskeletal injuries. Stephen splits his clinical time between the Bolton Arena Clinic and the Southport Clinic. Over the previous 2 years he has become particularly interested in functional rehabilitation, kinetic control movement analysis and movement screening. As a result he has undergone further training in the Performance Matrix Foundation Screening and the Performance Matrix Golf Screening.
Stephen enjoys playing golf in his spare time and takes a keen interest in golfing-related injuries. He is one of 2 clinicians at Summit Physiotherapy who is trained to carry out the Performance Matrix Golf Screening on amateur and professional golfers; allowing them to reduce the risk of injury, improve performance and predict the risk of injury. Stephen currently works with a number of top professional and amateur golfers who have seen some great results.
Stephen works with a wide variety of clients from recreational to elite athletes, and has developed a vast knowledge in all musculoskeletal injuries. Throughout his career he has maintained extremely high standards, ensuring treatment is tailored to the individual’s needs. Stephen is also part of the Summit Committee and is responsible for the health and safety of all Summit’s team members and clients.
Outside of work, Stephen plays a wide variety of sports at a competitive level, including football and golf. He is a single-figure handicap golfer at Westhoughton Golf Club.
