We are excited to announce Chiropody @ Summit Physiotherapy within our Bolton Arena clinic. We are pleased to welcome podiatrists Sarah and Charlotte whose practice of 7 years was formerly at Tesco in Horwich. They come with a wealth of knowledge and are both State Registered and HCPC registered. They are happy to bring their existing clients to Summit, as well as having the chance to meet new people.
Podiatrists have a wealth of experience treating all ages with a wide range of conditions affecting the feet. They diagnose and treat clients, giving preventative advice to avoid reoccurrence of any foot problems to maximise their comfort and mobility.
Some general chiropody problems we diagnose and treat are; hard skin and corns, dry, cracked heels, ingrowing toenails, fungal nails and Athlete’s foot. Treatment of superficial skin problems is usually painless and instant relief is often felt.
Podiatrists are also able to provide specialist care and advice for people with diabetes and arthritis, as well as perform minor surgery on problem ingrown toenails.
Some podiatry complaints include things that are not visible on the surface of the skin, but involve structures inside the foot such as heel pain. Abnormalities in how we walk can also be assessed by podiatrists and orthotics (shoe inserts) can be prescribed to improve foot function.
A routine appointment includes assessment and treatment of any skin problems as well as advice on foot wear and what you can do yourself at home to look after your feet. This is a 30 minute treatment and the fee is £25. nail cutting and filing, removal of any hard skin or corns.
