Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber
We are delighted to be able to offer Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurised environment (Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber).
Anyone can benefit from HBOT whether you are an athlete seeking shorter recovery times, you’re looking to increase post-surgery rehabilitation or you’re simply feeling tired or fatigued.
Benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy:
- Increases circulation and oxygenation
- Enhances energy levels
- Faster recovery from sprains/tears and bone fractures
- Reduces stress and anxiety
- Stimulates the formation of new blood cells
- Reduces inflammation and pain
- Supports the immune system
- Supports oxygenation to cardiac tissue
Contact Us
If you have any questions about our Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. You can call us on 0800 731 2738 or alternatively, complete the form below and a member of our team will call you back.
What to expect:
Unlike some Hyperbaric Oxygen Chambers, no oxygen mask is required to deliver the therapy. You simply step inside our chamber where you then lie down and get comfortable (we’re always happy for clients to bring along phones/books/tablets to keep them entertained, whilst others choose to bring blankets and have a snooze)
- Once inside, a member of our team will then zip the chamber to seal the oxygen, and the therapy will begin. During the initial stages of the session, the pressure will begin to increase and your ears may feel much like they do when taking off on an aeroplane. However, as the pressure reaches capacity, you will feel ready to relax and enjoy the session.
- You will have a walkie talkie so there is access to communication between you and a member of our team if or when you should need us
- Once pressurised, the chamber is much like lying down at home and doesn’t feel too different to normal conditions and the session will last for 60 minute
- The process of depressurisation is much like that of the first stages, but standard steps like swallowing and opening and stretching your jaw should alleviate any popped ears.

What’s It LIke Inside?
One of our more frequently asked questions is “what’s it like inside?” so we’ve put together a short video to show you just how spacious and comfortable the chamber is! You can also get an idea of the kinds of things you can take inside with you to make the sessions as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.
HBOT Prices & Packages:
Please see below prices for our Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy;
Price per 1 hour session – £45
5 sessions package – £200 (a saving of £25)
10 session package – £350 (a saving of £100)
15 session package – £500 (a saving of £175)
20 session package – £650 (a saving of £250)
To gain the most benefit from the treatment, we always recommend that you begin with an intensive block of sessions. By this, what we mean, is to have a 3 or 4 sessions as close together as possible to create a good base level, you can then taper off the sessions and attend as frequently as you feel is beneficial to you.

What does Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) help with?
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) can help alleviate the symptoms surrounding a range of conditions and illnesses. For example, some cancer treatments, such as radiotherapy, can cause damage to healthy tissue around the area being treated. Sometimes nearby blood vessels lose the ability to supply enough blood to the healing area. When the blood supply is limited, cells do not get enough oxygen. Our Hyperbaric oxygen chamber uses high pressure to increase the amount of oxygen you can breathe. This puts more oxygen into the bloodstream, which therefore aids the healing process. Some other conditions that the chamber can assist with are:
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Chronic Fatigue
- Fracture Healing
- Skin Necrosis due to Vascular Occlusion
- Spinal Cord Injuries
- Glaucoma
- Stroke
- Anaemia
So, how does it work?
At Summit Physio, we have a soft-shell Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber. Once inside the chamber, we deliver 100% oxygen at a pressure of 30KPA (4.3PSI). This increased delivery of pure oxygen under high pressure means your lungs can gather much more oxygen than would be possible under normal atmospheric circumstances, where the air we breathe consists of just 21% oxygen.
