Since graduating from the University of Hull in 2011 with a degree in (BSc) Sports Rehabilitation, Laura has specialised in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and treatment.
In this time, Laura has gained a wide variety of experience, including working with Hull KR, Hyde United Football club and Knutsford Football Academy, where she was the Head of the Medical Department.
Laura works at our Summit clinics in Wigan and Wrightington. Since joining the team she has had the opportunity to further her skills and knowledge whilst working alongside physiotherapists, podiatrists, rehabilitation specialists, consultants and other medical professionals.
Laura has successfully treated a large number of post-operative patients with great results. She believes a combination of hands-on techniques and patient-specific exercises are key for recovery from any injury. Laura works with the ethos that no injury is the same, and each patient presents different biomechanics, so treatment should be tailored to personally suit them and their lifestyle. She also believes that if both the patient and the clinician understand the root cause of the injury, not just the symptoms, then this will lead to better long-term management of the injury and reduce the chance of reoccurrence in the future.
Laura has taken a particular interest in The Performance Matrix Screening, functional rehabilitation and the importance of core stability.
As a great believer in a healthy lifestyle, when she isn’t working Laura enjoys working out regularly in the gym and running to make sure she is fit and in shape herself.
